This time it's personal.
Hooray for Virginia, which will likely enjoy major recount shenanigans. At least the donkey party enters this recount from a position of strength, as Webb appears up by around 2K votes. It's fun to know that two of those ballots belonged to my folks, assuming my macacan mother was able to grip the pencil firmly in her tail.

The month in brief!
Been fooling with this site a bit, and I suppose most of the pieces are in place. I've gotten used to testing CSS edits on Firefox, IE, and Opera, though the inconsistencies continue to make me cry. I enjoyed my five-year college reunion a few weeks ago. Good times with old friends was reward enough for being reminded that "late-twenties" isn't just something that happens to other people. A few of us even scoured the quad for the pillar that accidentally hit our golf cart in senior year. Saw The Prestige last week, maybe two months after The Illusionist ... I didn't know 19th-century British culture was ALL MAGIC SHOWS ALL THE TIME. David Sedaris' Me Talk Pretty One Day is hilarious, and another reason I should be listening to NPR.

I also enjoyed a second guitar lesson yesterday. My inner Clapton is a slow and stumbling fool, and I scold him daily in the hope that he will someday stagger through a fraction of what I saw Rod y Gab summon at The Independent on the 24th. Damn, but they are good.
